Mount Shasta Sage Smudge 4.5" Length (Small)
- Mount Shasta Sage
- Approximately 4.5" in Length
- 1 Smudge Stick
Shasta Sage from Mount Shasta in Northern California is a smaller leaf variety and has a milder aroma than white sage. It is known as a 'feminine sage', strong yin energy, great for alignment and preparation for mediation. Mt. Shasta Sage is a special variety of desert sage grown on one of the seven sacred mountains of the world - home of a high energy, spiritual vortex.
For hundreds of years, white sage has been considered a sacred, cleansing, purifying and protective plant. It's leaves are whitish-green, and if you rub the fresh leaves between your thumb and forefinger, a refreshing, cleansing scent is released. Native Americans started the tradition of using Sacred Sage to ward off evil spirits and negative energies.
To burn a smudge stick - just light the tip, blow it out and either wave in air or place in a glass or other fireproof container (one that will not burn) with sand or salt placed therein to hold the smudge upright. If placing the stick in a bowl, you can use a feather to move the smoke around. Voice your intention as you move about the room or your home. For example, you can say, This house is clear, or This house is healthy. Remember to smudge in every corner, as negativity sometimes will gather there. To extinguish, invert smudge into the sand or salt to smother, and never under running water.
Cautions: Never blow on the stick while smudging, as this could cause sparks to fly and cause a fire. Do not wear billowy, loose fitting clothing and keep windows closed while smudging. If gently waving your smudge stick room to room, always hold a fireproof container underneath
